Luke 9:57 - 62 When Jesus said, "Follow Me," many people said, "Okay, I'll follow you." To be clear about what it means to be His disciple, Jesus defined the kind of life that is "fit" for the Kingdom. He wanted His disciples, and us, to understand that being a disciple requires more than most followers want to commit to in their relationship with Him. Luke recorded this lesson for us in our focal passage for today.

Luke 9:23 - 26 We are in a study entitled, "The Committed." Last week, we took a look at "The Leader of the Committed." Jesus, our Leader, called His disciples to "Total Commitment" in Luke 9:23 - 26. He gave them the requirements and the reasons for His call to commitment. This call is the same for His disciples today.

Before making any commitments, it would help if we knew who our commitment was to and that is what we will see in this first message. Romans 8:1 - 14 It's amazing how often we forget what God said when we first believed in Jesus. "Not Guilty!" Wow! Our sin is forgiven and we have new life through the Holy Spirit who lives in our hearts. He reminds us that we can experience the fullness of God in new ways every day. God wants each believer to experience the joy of being members of His forever family right now. Look at Romans 8:1 - 14 with us today!

1 Peter 4:7 - 11 Paul wrote: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13). Peter picked up on this idea as he wrote to believers who were suffering because of their faith in Jesus. He stated that there are certain evidences of having received God's grace in those who are "Empowered by the Holy Spirit" every day. Truly, we can make a real difference because the Spirit of Jesus lives in us.

1 Corinthians 2:10-13; 3:16-17; 6:19-20 There is a mystery that seems too good to be true. Those who believe in Jesus as Savior have the Holy Spirit dwelling in their hearts. We are the "Temple of the Holy Spirit" according to Paul in 1 Corinthians. The Holy Spirit ihelps us experience the fullness of God every day. We not only know our Heavenly Father intimately, we can personally participate in what He is doing in the world. This mystery is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit

John 14:12 - 18 We begin a new series this morning based on the Holy Spirit. We want to understand more about the Holy Spirit so we can respond to His work in our hearts and lives. Philippians 4:8 - 13 Isn't it interesting how we say God has all we need to help us enjoy life, but we sometimes fail to think about how His supply for us actually works.
